Weta
Everyone has a weta story. Lots of people’s first reaction is to stomp on them if taken by surprise and we shudder every time we hear this. They are very beautiful and special creatures and we encourage everyone to care for them to save them from becoming extinct. They only bite if cornered and they are much more afraid of you than you are of them!
The Fibreactive weta is about the size of the giant weta, found in some parts of New Zealand. The most commonly seen one is about half the size.
On these ones, the feelers are adjustable and two of the legs move, to give the impression that they are about to jump.
